COVID-19 Testing Update

All ModernMD centers now offer Diagnostic COVID-19 e-swab testing for suspected, active COVID-19 infection and IgG antibody testing to evaluate for potential COVID-19 immunity.

COVID-19 oriented testing may only be performed in person at a ModernMD location, as specimens must be collected.

If you choose a video visit to evaluate COVID-19-like symptoms while quarantining, your Provider may refer you to a ModernMD center for a diagnostic e-swab, at no additional cost to you.

If you are interested in IgG testing, please visit your local ModernMD, no appointment necessary!

At ModernMD, a video visit is an online urgent care visit with a Provider for a minor illness or injury, accessed from the ModernMD website on your phone, tablet or computer.

All providers that see our patients via video visit are part of the core ModernMD provider team that treats our patients in our centers.

Video visits are a convenient alternative to stopping by a ModernMD center for many common conditions. Conditions we treat via video visit include:
  • Upper respiratory symptoms such as cough & shortness of breath

Yes! Adults & kids 6 months and older can use video visits to be diagnosed and treated by a ModernMD Provider. If the video visit is for a minor, please be sure to join the video call with them.

Yes, a prescription can be given via video visit, if your ModernMD Provider determines you need one. Your prescriptions can then be delivered to your door by Medly Pharmacy!

Our partner, Medly pharmacy, will deliver your prescriptions straight to your home. After your visit, Medly will contact you to arrange for a delivery time that works for you. If you would prefer to visit your usual pharmacy in person, please let us know during your visit.

To schedule a video visit, simply click on the “schedule my video visit” or “Launch my video visit now!” buttons on this page. You will be taken to a registration screen, where you choose a time for your visit and enter your information to book. You will receive an email and text message confirming your appointment.

Once you complete your booking, you will receive a confirmation message to the mobile phone number and email address you entered during registration. You can complete your paperwork, enter insurance and payment information, and access your video visit by clicking on the link included in that confirmation message. All video visit interfacing is encrypted on both web and mobile devices, so your video visit will be completely secure and private no matter how you choose to access your video call (web or mobile browser). Your video visit is secure even when being used in an open public hotspot.

If your cell service or internet connection is poor you will receive one of the following error notifications:
  • We could not connect you to the video call
  • Failed to connect
  • Your connection is bad, attempting to recover
  • If you are unable to:
  • Find an area with stronger connection
  • Use an alternative device (such as another cell phone in your home) we will attempt to connect you by providing a link to an alternative video tool

We understand that its tough to be right on time, all the time. ModernMD Providers will guarantee you a five minute grace period and will wait up to ten if they do not have other patients waiting in our virtual waiting room. You will not be billed for your first missed visit, so feel free to reschedule.
