BUT here’s the good news – Not only do we now offer diagnostic COVID-19 testing for suspected active COVID-19 infection and IgG Antibody testing to evaluate for COVID-19 antibodies, but we’re also here to help make sense of what these options may mean for you and your family.

What is the difference between a diagnostic COVID-19 test & an antibody test?
Diagnostic testing is used to determine if you are actively infected with COVID-19 and is completed using a nasal swab. Antibody testing is a blood test used to determine if you were infected with COVID-19 and have developed IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
How accurate are the tests ModerMD offers?
Diagnostic COVID-19 testing is 99.9% accurate, when a sufficient sample is collected using a nasal swab. The form of IgG antibody testing we offer is 99.8% accurate, in patients possibly exposed at least 14 days prior to testing.
Who is eligible for testing?
Nearly everyone is eligible for one of the two available forms of COVID-19 testing. Diagnostic testing will be provided to patients as determined by provider evaluation. Antibody testing is available to anyone over the age of 12 who is currently symptom-free and has been symptom free for at least 14 days.
Are both forms of testing covered by insurance?
Yes, you may use your insurance for both diagnostic COVID-19 & antibody testing! If you are commercially insured, most insurance companies are waving all patient responsibility for COVID-19 testing. If you are uninsured, a visit with our provider for a COVID-19 diagnostic e-swab is $99 & a visit for an anti-body blood draw is $75. In both cases, you may receive a bill from our lab partner at a later date.
How long will it take to get my results?
We should receive your results from our lab partner within 3-5 business days of your visit. One of our team members will reach out with your results as soon as they are available.
What should I do after my test?
In accordance with guidelines, if you have a fever or are currently experiencing active COVID-19 symptoms, please return home and self-quarantine until you receive your diagnostic testing results and additional instructions. If you have an antibody test, please continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently & wear a mask in public.
